Is there any way you could get the headlights/corner lights from the car? those E-code lights beat hell out of the plastic junk on the USA/NA 1986+ 240s.

I would sure like a set for one of my 240s.

    Regards,

    Bob

      Bob,
A fair guess is that this particular car is about 1500 miles away, so there must be easier ways to get you a set of Euro lamps. (And you're correct, you need the corner lights as well.) This is my best advice:

There is a guy on the Swedish 240 Club BB who are able to get almost any 240 part. His prices for lamps simply cannot be beaten, you'd have to steal them otherwise. I know I have to pay quite a bit more at my local yard (Norway). The major part of the costs will be the postage. Here is his email:

Please observe that I have not been dealing with the guy personally, but he is a well known character on the bulletin board.

Erling, I'm glad to see that it's not your Brick. I'd hate to see "Sven-Göran" come to such a sad end.

I see that those wheels are different from the Virgos and steel rims you display on your site, but I had no idea if you've changed them or not. I see that the picture is hosted on a Swedish news site, but since I can't read Swedish, I couldn't do searching in the archives. However, I noticed that the above car doesn't have the Euro side markers, and that yours does, so they're not the same.

Do you know what caused the fire?

      Hi,
Thanks for the concern, I am happy to report that Sven-Göran was safely inside the garage at the time of the incident. This was just a picture I picked up from a Swedish newspaper, and the article does not state what caused the fire. I guess it wasn't clear at the time.

You're right about the side markers, I noticed the lack of them too. And it puzzled me, as I thought they were standard on all Euro/Scandinavian spec'ed cars. I don't see any 240 in Norway without them.

It's my understanding that nearly all of the European 240s, at least in later years, came with those side marker lights from the factory. That was not ever the case in America.

However, with a little bit of work, side marker lights can be installed using a kit. I personally am hoping to get the amber flashers from VLVWorld, but I've seen a few other manufacturers selling similar things for the 240s.

          Sad indeed!! 200

Arrrgh I hate to see that! The rims are 16" Hydra's sans center caps. They came on I believe the 940 turbo but fit the 240 perfectly. The "euro" side markers are nice. I got the wiring harness from IPD and the markers from my local volvo guy which are Volvo OEM. I originally got a set from eBay which were Scantech and didn't fit correctly...lousy parts...watch out for those!! I have mine wired to remain lit when my lights are on and while making a turn they flash on and off.

          Best,
          Adam
