***SERVICE**** Light on 1990 B230FT, ( 760 Wagon). Help!

Hello all,

Well after a hard 2 weeks of spare time and weekends I successfully repaired a warped head and blown gasket. 1st time Volvo repair!! Not too bad of a car to work on. I actually enjoyed it! One problem, the "Service" light is now on in the dash? I used the diagnostic module under the hood for igniton and fuel system and it returned all OK codes. Can anyone get me in the right direction for determining what is causing this service light? Thanks to all who helped write the FAQ's; they are great! I could not find any information in my review of the book on the service light? What can be causing this? Once I know which components to check I can figure it out, maybe....Thanks!

Jerry

Does it go out after 2 minutes?

If so, remove the rubber grommet in the instrument cluster. Behind it you'll find a button. Press the button with a pen tip (or other pointed object) and it will reset the Service light. Not sure of the frequency but I think it comes on in 5k mile increments.
