junkyard junkyard junkyard... if you can afford to pay even for a rebuilt one, you can spend some time and have fun in the junkyard for an hour looking for one... cost, about $25.... heck, buy a couple.

What exactly is wrong with your car that your dealer has you convinced the computer is to blame... this is the place after all to post your problems.

If your car is running it is probably not the ECU. A spare from the boneyard or ebay is a good insurance, they can be bought for $30 - $100 for the 89 - 93 model year. Cheaper if the car is older.

No. But I bought one off of eBay and it works just fine. I put it in my car, I did the switch before my old ECU started acting up. I kept my old 561 as a spare. I paid about 100 dollars for the new unit.

Are you sure your ECU is at fault though ? You may want to do a temporary swap with a known good one before you shell out the money. In case you also have a 561 (with pink label found in 1989 cars and sometimes in later models too), here is a link to a fix you can attempt

You should describe to us the symptoms of your car, the causes may lay somewhere else and Bricksters here may be able to help you identify the true source.
