Small 240 Tach 200

Does anyone know if those small 240 tachs have problems? I pulled one from a pick n pull and I can't get it to work. Anyone know the exact wiring? I've pulled a few of these and they usually work. Thank You!

Never seen a bad one yet and I've pulled over a dozen. The one in my '88 takes a tap to get going if the car has been sitting for a while. Mr Brick has the wiring down so if you follow his directions it should work. One other thing, if the numbers only go up to 6 with the redline starting at 5.5 it's a diesel tach. Those are different inside and when hooked up to our gas cars will only show about 1k rpm even when the engine is reved way up.

I installed mine about six months ago. As I recall I connected the red and white wire behind the dash to the "G". I then connectd the groudn to the "-" and connected to a switched fuse to the "+". PLEASE CONFIRM THIS BEFORE YOU GO ABOUT PLUGING WIRES IN. It's been awhile since I have done it, so I might be mistaken.

Good luck and happy bricking.
