765T Winter Tires on a '95 850? 700 1989

The previous owner of my car, '89 765T, is keeping the snow tires to use on his 850. Are these going to fit the 850 or will I be expecting a call from him asking me to come pick them up? From reading old posts I understand the lug patterns are the same but (at least for alloys) there is a different offset...

Thanks,
Bean

They'll probably be fine. As stated earlier, they'll stick out about an inch further than stock. As long as the tires aren't too wide -- which snow tires generally aren't -- they'll work. (There is a potential for rubbing while turning sharp, over a bump. The only way to know for sure is to try it.) The more severe problem arises going the other way: putting 850 wheels on a 7xx/9xx car. While the lug pattern is the same, the offset puts the wheel/tire in further, and in contact with the strut tower.

Correct - same bolt pattern, different offset. The use of RWD rims on a FWD will make 'em stick out about an extra inch.

True. Likely the tires will work fine, but the wheels are definately wrong.
