Air Mass Meter Setting on B230F 700 1988

Hi all, does anybody know what resistance my amm should be set to, at the moment it is at 112ohms. I only get about 600km out of an 80l tank and I heard by adjusting this that you will get better fuel economy. Thanks in advance

Steven

I don't believe there is any "best economy" setting for the AMM, but have found that about 365 ohms gave good emissions test results on 240s that were in an otherwise good state of tune.

If you do the Base Idle setting (link below), it's 700 rpm with test point grounded not 725. The ECU should then bring it up to 750±20 rpm when the test ground is removed. This is according to Volvo Service manual TP 31003/1 for B230 engines, 740/760 from 1985 up.

There is no particular resistance value that needs to be set, as it varies across cars. Use this link to correctly set it via this adjuster screw. Make sure your base-idle is set first though.
