cold=rough start, otherwise runs like a gem 200 1981

I found lots of previous posts on the same subject but thought my specifics might be different. My 81 245dl always started on the first crank, took it in for an oil change then had problems the next day. First thing in the morning it now takes 8-12 cranks to get it started, does try and turn over each time. Once it gets started idles and runs great for the rest of the day. Starts sooner later in the day when it's warmer.

I have had the fuel injectors and cold-start injectors checked and are functioning perfectly, also have a new battery, cap, rotor and plugs but NOT new wires. Mechanic said the wires tested OK so no need to replace.

Are there things a novice can check to narrow the problem down?

Don't have much money to get this fixed.

Thanks for all your help, Mike

    Difficult starting after sitting for a long period is probably loss of system pressure. This can be a leak or the accumulator. Test this theory of low pressure by jumpering the pump relay before cranking to ensure system is pressurized.
