03-72 lockup torque conv 200

hi there, for any who care. the info i recieved here was correct and i have proved it. i installed the AW 03-72L auto tranny in my 85 244turbo, and some here said it wont hold up. it lasted about four or five months and took a crap the other day while crusing down the turnpike about 75 mph and getting on it. oh well. i picked up a AW71 about a month ago so soon i will be up and running. just thought i would put this info out there as i found no one else who tried this setup. also i would like to add= hurricanes suck!! especially two in three weeks.

I had lived in the Pensacola area and the Jacksonville area for 11 years and never got hit. Moved to NC and I never dreamed, and neither did anyone else, that hurricane force winds would come inland as far as the Raleigh-Durham area. That was hurricane Fran in 1996. I had gained respect for these.

There are rumors that there were some Ls (AW71L) factory installed in 700Ts or 900Ts. I haven’t actually found anyone that that got one that way. There are several in the 900 forum that are thinking about putting an L into a turbo, me included. But than, I rather have a M46 in my 945. This is an exchange on the subject from the 700 forum. http://www.brickboard.com/RWD/index.htm?id=859013&show_all=1
