Does anyone know where our filter is supposed to be located at?

I hate the nasty smell I get when I turn on the fresh outside air and the smell isn't plesant... Not midew smell... Just dirty...

I know many newer cars have the Hepa filter setup that is replacable...

IS our car replacable... IF SO.... Point me out to the source!

    Our 80's heritage cars don't have a spot for a filter.

    I got a electrical kit from the dealer which has worked well in preventing the odor described. The odor is from mildew etc. caused by stuff growing on the wet evaporator. The kit causes the blower to run for about 10 minutes after the car has been shut off for 90 minutes. At this time the evaporator has warmed up and the blower drying it up prevents the "stuff" from growing.

    Cost was about $100 or so for the kit consisting of harness, relay & timer module. The glove box needs to come out in order to install it. If interested, I can look up the part number for the kit I got but yours probably would be different anyway. Ask your parts guy to look for a kit using a term like Evaporator Dryer or???????????

    The 960/90 series Volvos never came from the factory with a vent/pollen filter. I wish they had. Someone here on the Brickboard has modified their air intake to accept a filter. I suggest using the search feature to find the thread.

        Oh okay...

        Well I have seen a kit to setup a filter... Also Found a source in Sweden who sells a filter that is thin enough to sit on to of our air / blower motor area... Just wondering if our cars came with these... Thank you all!!
