122 brake system changed over to P-1800 dics brakes 120-130

what to make a big change ove to dics brakes, i want to take the front spindles and brakes and the near axles out of a dead 1970 P-1800 and install them in my 1967 122 wagon so that i can run the 240 mag and have dics brakes front and rear. am i going to have any problem with this change over? just the work involved and new rear wheel seals, any reeplies will be most helpful. thanks, kim

Just to clarify... You need to change the entire rear end, which is to say welding the wagon suspension mounts onto the 1800e axle housing. Or buying the kit mentioned below, though I'd be at least a little bit skeptical.

Your '67 wagon and the 1800e would have the same Dana 30 rear end, but the axles are totally different... the as is where teh brakes bolt up. Different number of the splines on the inside is a biggie...

The good thing though is that after you do the conversion, you can get a limited slip unit for the 1800 rear end, as it is normal. There is no such option for the 122 rear short of finding old parts. The dana 30 in your wagon has 10 spline axles, whereas every other dana 30 in the world (there are LOTS of 'em) has 27 spline axles.

I'm planning to do the same conversion on my wagon someday. I don't care about the disk brakes, but I sure do want the limited slip.

The 65 wagon in the picture used 1800ES hubs for the front. No need to change the spindles. The differential from the ES was used for the rear. Just a matter of relocating the spring hangers/mounts.

Say, is that a custom-job back bumper, or did you adapt it from some other car? I like the looks of that.

Me too on pix. Don't worry about the size, I got a fast connection just E-mail em. Nice wagon!!!!

CVI makes an adapter kit to install sedan and 1800 rear axles into wagons. Runs about 180 bucks (no welding).

Just as I thought on the front discs, just swap to late 1800e or es discs. The last 1800 rear drums were still the 5 by 4.5", right? Making small pattern rear drums a non player.

Yes, you'll have many problems, given that none of the parts are similar(though they almost look it, from a distance) between the 2; nothing that $$$$ and time can't solve, though.
