Front windshield washer 'Tee' or 'Check Valve' .. where do I get a good one? 700 1987

So I finally got my washer pumps running (by buying new ones from FCP Groton!) but now there seems to be a problem with a bad tee where the 3 hoses meet by the firewall.

I took a junkyard one apart and it looks like there's a worn out rubber diaphragm that goes bad. Something tells me the junkyard is not the place to find these...

Is my only option the dealer? Can these be rebuilt?

Online supplier or dealer. They are quite cheap. IPD has them for $5.50 .

How to rebuild windshield washer 'Tee' or 'Check Valve' 700 1987

you can rebuild them for pennies, and actually make them better: take a nitrile surgical glove (or plain old latex, which will wear faster) cut out a square inch, and then pry open the valve carefully using a blade or sharp screwdriver. Don't lose the spring that will pop out. take off the busted membrane, and lay in the piece of polymer that you made. Snap the top back on, and you are in business. If you are a neat-freak, trim the excess material.

        thanks Sherm,

I will rebuild these with your instructions... I've opened the ones up that I have and the spring popped out... do you know which way the spring points toward the red cap or toward the rubber membrane?

        thanks,

        jack
