142 interior codes wanted 140-160

Is there anywhere on the web where I can find the interior code for a early 142 interior color?

I'm looking for codes for grey, dark brown and black that would fit a 142 up to about 72,.

The code for my 71 142E with black leather seats, black vinyl panels, and dark brown carpets is 655-716. I just resewed and replaced one of the front seat covers. It's an interesting job! Repair of this particular seat design requires a pretty heavy-duty sewing machine. But, for some of the other designs Volvo used, a good standard home machine would be sufficient.

I took the following codes from id plates under the hoods of my 140s.
They should be the factory codes. Although I'm not the original owner
of the cars, there is nothing that indicates that the upholstry is
not original.

'70 145S Code 824-684; Blue cloth seating surfaces and a navy vinyl everywhere else.

'72 145S Code 865-799; Black vinyl everywhere with a brown carpet.

'72 145E Code 778-787; Dark brown cloth seating surfaces and black vinyl everwhere else with a dark brown carpet.

My personal choice is the 778-787.

Don't recall ever seeing a dark grey.

I wonder if that's the same code for 142?

I don't see why they would change the interior colour and trim level codes from model to model.. They may have, but I don't see why it would have been necessary.

Slight woops! That car is a 144E...not a wagon if that makes any difference.
Don't know if that code was used on the 142.

Keep searching!

Per,
Have you tried www.140-klubben.org? I'm not certain, but I suspect the information could be there.

Funny you should ask, I'm actually checking through Robert Scherman (140 klubben president) on the availability of NOS interior pieces for the 142....and he doesn't have any of those codes either.

Why don't you contact örebro agenturaffär directly, they have quite a bit of upholstery for the 140 series. I just bought a new blue interior from them and the stitching and fabrics seem to be identical to the old interior.
I'm not sure if the guy at örebro speaks good english, but it gives you a chance to brush up your swedish too...
