paint 200 1976

does anybody know where I can buy replacement paint for my Volvo? the color code under the hood says 117-00-2 and the previous owner told me the color's name was "Carribean Red". I checked ipd and they don't seem to have it.

Online, you can look up code 117 on paintscratch.com. Not yet a customer, so I can't vouch for the product.

If you take that paint code to a place that sells automotive paint as their main business, they should be able to mix it right up. I did that for my 1985 240. Matched perfect.

Most automotive paint shops can match your paint even without the number. I have taken the gas flap into the store and had them mix up some matched paint and load it into spray cans. I think it was about 35 bucks for two cans.

Some (not all) Sherwin-Williams auto paint stores will mix and put in spray cans. I had it done a few months ago at a store in Tempe, AZ. Four cans were about $42 as I recall. This was for a white 74 144.

I have a bottle of original Volvo touch up paint that I found in the back of my '76 245.

I'll go look at it and see if there is a part number on it. The paint for the car is this color red:

For what it's worth, that picture was taken in the rain.

that looks like the same color, but I'm not talking a small little bottle. I'm talking a new paint job.
Thanks, though.
