Stowing jack and jack handle 200 1986

Where/how am I to store my jack and handle?? Are there brackets in the driver's rear wheel well? Do they go in that pouch on the outside of the spare tire cover? I lost my owners manual and it is driving me nuts!! (yes I am very anal retentive)....

Thanks and go Packers!!!

Keep it alongside the driver's seat. Local laws may place limits on carrying weapons in the car, but no cop is going to fault you for having a jack.

I actually put mine under the trap door on the passenger's side, to help support the fibre shelf. You can adjust the jack height so it makes is sit more stable. Mind you, mine is probably missing some clips or something that are supposed to hold the shelf.

Try the Volvo home page, the owner's page has all the owners manuals online.
    Try this one:

The quick glance of the '86 manual I looked at did not have a picture of the sedan stowage, the '89 does.

Do you have the scissor jack or the worm gear jack? 200 1986

On my 89 there is a piece of black rubber glued to the side of the spare tire well about the size of the foot of the jack. You put the spare tire in first and then you put the foot of the jack on the rubber and then jam the other end of the jack against the tire. This way its all on rubber and there are no rattles. I don't know whether there is any specific place for the handle.
