Ordering Rotors... Need help - ATE or Girling? 200 1989

I'm ordering some new rotors and OEM pads for my car. I imagine that I have Girling in the front and ATE in the rear, but not certain -- only guessing this because FCP Groton doesn't offer anything Girling for the rear brakes on a 240.

Since my car is an '89, it doesn't have the type of brakes used on the plate on the passenger-side strut tower. The service sticker in the luggage compartment says Brakes = 1, but the Bentley manual doesn't tell if this is Girling/Girling or a Girling/ATE set-up.

Anyone know?

Thanks..

Hm. The sticker inside my 1987 trunk has both front and rear brakes listed. But you could measure the thickness of the front rotors:
ATE = 24 mm
Girling = 22 mm

Erling.

Eric - I believe ATE makes vented front rotors for your 240 that will work with the Girling calipers. I used ATE rotors on the front and back of an '88 and have been very pleased with the quality.

It should be Girling front, ATE rear pads. I've never heard of Girling being used on the rear of any late model 240's
Easy to tell, poke your head behind the rear wheel and the ATE stamp should be on the back of the caliper.

I second that emotion. I have a '91 240 and its girling on the front ate in the rear. got cross-drilled and slotted rotors (along with their pads) for the front from eurosport tuning and for the first time ever have had no signs of warpage--must dissipate the heat in an awesome way--highly recommended, it's been a year and a half of city/highway driving.
