TRW balljoints 200

I have read here that trw ball joints are very good. FCP Groton sells them for$15. Are theses the good ones or are they cheap? What do people suggest? 89 240 wagon--needs left side ball joint. Thanks Phil

TRW or Moog are both good brands. They are not hard to find at autoparts dealers if you are unsure of what you are getting from FCP Groton.

I recently purchased a pair of ball joints from FCP, but I don't think they were made by TRW as advertised. First of all, it was very clear that each ball joint was made by a different manufacturer. The arm casting, joint cup, and boot was different on each one. While both of them came complete w/hardware, even the bolts/nuts were not the same in each kit. Also, one joint kit came packaged in a psudo-OEM blue/white box and the other was sealed in an unlabeled plastic bag. Please don't get me wrong....I did install both joints and have had no problems thus far. And while I do think the "TRW" name should be removed from FCPs listings, I still feel that I got my $30 worth.

TRWs are good ball joints. I have put them on many (okay 3) volvos, and they have been fine. Just an aside, if you are going to do one side, you should do the other too. Keeps things in balance.

I put in 2 TRW balljoints from FCP Groton (1 left, 1 right, 2 different cars). Seem to be working fine - though of course you need 100-200 K miles or so to see if they are as good as the originals!

As much work as they are to put in, I only replaced the bad one. I figure if the other side goes bad later, I can always do it, ignore it, or pay a shop. I don't want to invest the labor time or pay for it on a "supposed to".
