760 low beams and bulb failure relay 700 1986

A couple of weeks ago, the low beams on my '89 760 failed to come on after having been on high beam. The high beams worked. As I clicked up and down, the low beams worked again and have been OK since. I would like to deal with this before it happens again, so I read the FAQs and concluded I may need a bulb failure relay. Also reading from the FAQs, it sounds like this relay is permanently attached to the relay bord. If that is true, how do I replace the relay?

    Are you sure you need a bulb-failure module ? From your post it sounds more like a problem with your headlight switch module...

      I'm not sure, but the FAQs suggest the relay is the most likely culprit. The lights are working now, so I can't troubleshoot. We use the car daily and I was trying to prevent the problem in the future. I don't like driving around wondering when the lights are not going to work. Maybe I will just have to wait until they stop working again.
