After thinking about aftermarket rims, I've decided just to stick with the Classic/SE rims I have on my 93 Classic sedan. And I appreciate all the suggestions on tire brand. But I still haven't made up my mind. I want a smooth, cushioned ride, but also want handling quality. My car has ipd sway bars. What can everybody suggest? Thanks in advance!

    Read up some reviews at TireRack. Since ride is a factor, focus more on touring and grand touring tires, though don't rule out high performance tires either.

    Give more attention to reviews of RWD cars - some tires perform well for a nose heavy FWD, but deficiencies show up on a much more balanced RWD car, and vice versa.

    Although I wouldn't want them on my car for handling, I would reccomend Michelins for the ride comfort and quiet running in an XGTV4. For handling, I would choose Pirelli in an HR rated or better, but these are very stiff sidewalls and tend to be noisy. It depends on how you perfer to drive. Continental Sport Contacts are a great highway smooth tire, also.

    If you're anywhere in snow country..... I use GreenDiamond Icelanders on all 3 RWD Volvos. They are an all weather, all season snow tire, smooth comfortable,long wearing, great handling, reasonably priced, and you don't have to have an extra set of snow tires hanging around. In summer they're nice tires, in winter they're a nice snow tire. I use them all year long, that's what this model tire is made for - all seasons.
