Country Drive 900 1991

Hi board,
I was recently driving on one of those little country roads and of course i had to let go alittle. I decided i could take some turns at rather high rates of speed, and i managed to control them no problem. The problem is, the steering feels different. There isnt any play on the wheel, its just that the steering isnt smooth anymore. Any ideas?

Did you bust a sway bar link? That wouldn't be unusual. And it does lend a weird feeling to the steering, although I'm not sure that it fits your description. There is a marked difference though. Also other potential issues are the radius rod bushings that wear out periodically (especially original ones).

Of course, more in-depth reasons are very possible. High speed isn't so hard on the steering rack itself, as much as it would be bushings and the suspension. Including struts, etc. Or it might be coincidental.

Agreed! It is good to hear from you again Chris. I've seen you chime in every once in a while regarding A/C issues. I always find your posts to be informative, beneficial, and polite.

Thee Chris Herbst?? 900 1991

It is good to see you back, maybe you really ever left but it is good to hear your input. Hope all is well with you and the sailing is the best, cannot beat this month for the weather. At least here in the Chicago area.
