760 tail lights on 85 244? 200

my daughter spent 800 of her own hard-earned dollars for her first car, the '85 244dl. it seems to have a good drivetrain (135000 mi), but some electrical problems. thanks to this site, i've got a handle on the non-alternating alternator, but she needs all four of the corner lights. i was at a local 'boneyard' today and spotted a good set of rear assemblies on a 760. i didn't have on ov hers with me, but they looked very much the same. can somebody out there confirm or deny that?
also, will the front assemblies from a station wagon fit the sedan?
thanks in advance.
dave

As far as I know, the 700 Series tail lights have a different bolt hole and circuit board set-up, and won't fit a 200 Series. Sorry.

The 244 tail lights changed with the 1986 model year. Newer year's will physically fit, but the circuit boards and some of the bulb holder position locks are not the same.

The front lights from a 244 and 245 are the same many years. For your 1985, the 1986 and newer front light are a no-fit.

The front corner lights from a 1985 are the same for 1983 and 1984, and maybe older models.

Put up some details of why the need for the lights, there may be some repair tricks known to others here.

    Good Luck,

    Bob

PS The "new" tail lilghts on eBay are to stay away from, look first at used and be sure the seller tells you what year they come from.

thanks, bob. i was hoping they might work, but i wasn't holding my breath...
the rear lights are cracked/broken and there is not a properly functioning set (tail, brake, parking or turn) of lights on the car. she's chancing a ticket every time she drives. the previous owner was, admittedly, "not an electrician", but he tried to fix them anyway. half of the bulbs are missing. i have some spares from an extra ass'y he had, but i'm struggling just trying to figure which bulb holders go in which holes with what wattage.
i bought a haynes manual that helped me figure out why the front parking light needed to be taped on (the plastic bracket for the screw had broken) but isn't detailed enough for sorting out the lights. a friend with a 'collection' of volvos turned me on to the brickboard, and i've learned a lot already -- especially to stay away from the aftermarket lights.
