penny fell into gear selector

Hi All,

I had a penny fall into my gear selector (auto trans) between the brush bristles on my '93 960. I can move the selector fine and the car seems to have no problems shifting. Does anyone know the problems I'm asking for if I leave it in there, or is it worth it to go and dig it out?

Thanks,

David

    penny fell into gear selector

I'd go into it to get it out!

My wife dropped a quarter into the gear selector (auto). The quarter got wedged between the front of the selector and the back of the stop point - causeing the gear selector not being able to go all the way foward into park thus not allowing the key to come out of the ignition. My wife couldn't get the keys out (she just thought the car was broken) had to leave the keys in the ignition and the door unlocked until I could get to the car (in Raleigh!). It took me about a second to get the quarter out.

I would just take a peak if the penny is anywhere to be seen - it could have dropped though to the side of center console.
