Hi, i have a 1980 242GT with a b21f engine and a Standard transmission and i was wondering what transmission i have? and will this hook up to a b23FT engine that i plan to put in, in the next fews years,?

you have an M46. The M46 was used from '76 to at least '91, on everything from a B17A to a B230FT.

Short version: yes.
