While I was out looking for a fender to replace the one someone so kindly bashed in, I ended up at a junkyard that had 7-10 240s, which surprised me.
Most of them are pretty tore up, aka either rotten or badly wrecked. That meant no body panel for me. However, they weren't very picked over. I snagged a Volvo hitch, Tach, Oil Pressure/Volt gauges, all for 40 bucks. I was pleased.
However, At least 2 of the 240s still had Corona wheels on them. I looked at them a little, and I think you could make a good set out of all of them. If anyone that lives in or around Cincinnati, OH is interested, drop me an email, I'll tell you where they were at.
Oh, and the guy that was running the checkout said 25 dollars for a good mag wheel.

I am a fellow Cincinnatian, where is the yard. I used to go to Schneider's on Kellogg, but they cleared out the majority of their Volvo. Nice guys, clean yard.
Also there is Jack's further down Kellogg. Complete opposite of Schneider's. Cluttered and an ecology nightmare. They have Volvo's but finding them is a bitch. And Brian behind the counter can be a real prick.
So, where is the yard>?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! I scoured the area to find a nice set of Coronas. Even though they are only 14", they are the only wheels that looked right on a 244 or 245. The turbo wheels(5 spoked) look great on a 242. Buy the best ones, clean them up and respray with a quality wheel paint, It will be worth the effort. Besides not everyone wants to be pimping with dubs.

Ugly Coronas are of almost no value. Seems nobody wants 14" rims anymore.
In fact, I sell them for scrap metal. The market is so good right now, I can get $8 for one.

Aaaww. Evan. I used to respect your posts !!! lol.
It's all a matter of personal opinion and taste of course!

I think Evan is right, at $100 a set, sort of marginal proposition at best. Of course the Hydras I got for that took a LOT of looking in pick and pulls! No market for Coronas, they sit in the pick and pulls and keep the Dersus's company.

Oh, it's not like that at all. In fact my '86 244 has a set of powder-coated Coronas on it.
It's just that nobody wants to buy shabby ones when:
a] there are nice ones around
b] if you're gonna refinish something, why not a 15"?

Where can I get the small cap for the coronas. I have been trying to find them for a while?

Well there you have a prime example of how things can get taken the wrong way!
My apologies.
I would like to see a pic of your powder coated Coronas. And how much is it to get that done?
Best regards.

Don't have any pix, sorry. They look just 'ok'. Back when I had them done, my powdercoat guy didn't have a real good flat silver for rims. He's since gotten some, and I have some Sirrus done in the good color.
Sandblast and powdercoat was $45/rim, iirc.
