When i change my plug wires is it going to make a big difference if i change my coil wire to my regina ignition system, or should i only change the plug wires or should i go with the bosh set with the coil wire included instead of bougicord, where you have to buy it seperate or are bosh wires crappy. any help would be great

When I bought new plug and coil wires for the Regina system on my '93 940, I found that the Bosch plug wires I ordered would not fit the Regina distributor cap even though the on-line catalog said they would.. The tower connectors are different. I had to reorder twice to get ones that fit. The ones that fit were Bougi's. The coil wire was listed as for the Regina system with the distributor mounted on the back of the cam shaft. This wire fit just fine.

The supplier seemed less than familiar with the requirements of the Regina system. Hopefully whoever you order from will know about the differences between the Bosch and Regina systems.

The consesnus is that Bosch, no good, Bougicord, yes.
Though... I once had bosch wires for many years and they were perfect.

Also note the metal sleeves, not sure where you get them from, but the most recent bougicords I bought from fcpgroton have no metal sleeves, and came in a plastic bag with no "bougicord" written on the wires. Word has it Bosch still uses the metal sleeves, but i don;t know for sure. For these older cars, it is diferent to really be sure where these parts are made these days. The Bosch will work fine, if you are tight on cash. If the car is mint and a keeper for another decade, jsut get the best bougicords you can find.

Also, I would change ALL wires including coil wire all at once. Otherwise... you would revisit it soon.

My thoughts...

Greg
