Hello all who have helped;

After reading all the encouraging words from board members I pulled the head today, as suggested I left the turbo and exhaust manifold on. There was a little green water in #2 and #3. The clyinder walls looked fine, crosshatching still visible with no scratches or gouges. No heavy buildup of carbon on the tops of the cylinders. It appears there may have been a minor water leak in the oil. The oil, while not emulsified was a little white and pasty but flowing fine. It needs a good cleanup and a trip to the machine shop. The timing belt was wearing a little as a matter of fact, they all need replacing! Other than breaking one tranny cooler line while trying to take it apart (Twisted the tubing and broke it) it was quite easy. Im no pro mechanic, not even shade tree and I had no trouble. Thanks to all who provided words of encouragement and sources for parts and machine work. I hope after the head is flattened out and a new Fel Pro gasket is installed that it will run alright. The guy I got it from (Free) just had the gasket diagnosed and did not feel like laying out the bucks to pay to have it done and did not feel qualified to do it himself. Is there anything in particular I should tell the machine shop to look out for or make note of on this particular head? I am taking it to a production shop who Im sure have done Volvos before. The Distributor had a crack in it as well as a film of oil inside the cap. The plugs all looked white and like they had been burning alright. Is there a quick way to clean the fuel injectors or should I bother? Any advice is welcomed. I have been making my way throught the FAQ's section. Its awesome! Like a manual on line. BTW, I assume #1 is the cylinder closet to the front bumper? I cant find an exact explanation for this although I did find the firing order. Thanks again
