front struts 200 1986

i am looking for a decent pair of bumpstops and dust covers for the front struts on my 240 series. if anyone out there has a set i may be interested. maybe we can make it mutually beneficial. i have a storehouse of parts that has to go. i have ipd sway bars, nuts, bolts, some gt parts, interior compenents. just tons of stuff, lets talk, and see what happens.

I have the bumpstops/dust covers that I removed from my car when I added the Bilstein HD's but I was keeping them in case I decide to revert the car to it's original state.

FCPOnline has bellows (dust covers) and bump stops. Pricing is bizzarre though. They list bellows for $11.03, bump stops for $37.58 and a combination bellows/bump stop for $13.53. Makes me wonder about quality on the last item but it's made by KYB so I would expect it to be pretty durable.

What GT parts do you have?

to '80 dl 2dr. i have the foglights for the gt, plus a pair of brand new in the bag brackets. the grill and headlight bezels, in decent shape for being 25 years old. the foglight switch. a rear trunk lid with the stripes, that i was using as templet for my 1979 gt. pictures of the original stripes, from a person i met who bought there car on ebay. i have several sets of gt rims, they need to be refinished they are not terrible though. if you have ambition i have the ipd large diameter sway bars. you can also convert your windows to power. i have the lifts the motors the switches, and possibly the harnesses. these have been with me for a while, so i have to get the time to gather everything up. if anything else comes up i can get in touch with you. hope this is helpful.

While I don't have the parts you are looking for, I can tell you where you can find some non-volvo generic replacements for the parts you are looking for.
Summit Racing (www.summitracing.com) sells strut boots ( the brand name I got was Skyjacker) (http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=edepartment.asp&N=120+4294925130&x=11&y=6) for $2.50 each (choice of colors).

The bumpstops are also available from Summit. They are Energy Suspension brand,
(http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=esearch.asp&N=110&Ntk=KeywordSearch&Ntt=bump+stops),
and they are somewhere around $10-$15 for a pair. Measure your old bumpstops and match them to the Energy Suspension parts by dimensions.

I used these parts when I rebuilt the suspension in my 1977 Datsun 280z (strut suspension all the way around!) and have had no problems at all with these parts. And I saved a LOT of money over buying OEM parts. The Nissan strut boots were nearly $20 each, and the bumpstops were $12 each! (x4!!!) :-O

Comparing the front suspensions of my 242 and my 280Z, it would appear that the boots and bumpstops mentioned above should fit without problems. Hope this helps...

p.s. email me with a list of parts you have to sell. I might be interested in some of them...billmz@bellsouth.net
