throttle position sensor

I am in the process of preparing to install a MegaSquirt EFI system on my 1980 242 with a B21 engine. I have almost all of the necessary hardware required for the insatllation except for the throttle position sensor. I got a throttle body off of a B23 motor that had an LH-Jetronic EFI system on it, but this throttle body only has a throttle postion SWITCH and not a SENSOR. My question is what year/ model of Volvo (or other european import) will have an actual rheostat-type TPS that will bolt up to my throttle body?

Thanks,

According to my Bentley manual, that throttle sensor was used in the LH 3.1 fuel injection system only. The manual shows this system was used in the 1990-93 Federal models (not California) and that the 5th and 6th characters of the VIN are 82. There is another federal model which uses the LH 2.4 which has the 5th and 6th VIN numbers 88 and which uses the switch type of TPS.

I'd want to check out the compatability of a non-Volvo sensor with the car's computer. The resistance range of the sensor should match what the designers put into the computer. Hope this helps.

      Jim,
Thanks for the info on the TPS. I will be using a MegaSquirt EFI computer, and it can be calibrated for different resistance values for various throttle position sensors. The reason I inquired about alternative TPS's from other euro-imports is that I know that several other european manufacturers used Bosch EFI systems and that there is some likelihood of another TPS that will bolt up to my throttle body without too much modification...
