Strange Electrical Problem?? 200 1979

I have a 1979 264 and it has developed a strange electrical problem I can't figure out. Recently while driving at night my dash lights went out and at the same time the tail light out indicator came on. The next day I checked everything out and everything seemed OK. All marker lights were working and the dash indicator was not lit. However, at night this same thing occurs. It is only when the headlights are on. When the headlights are on the right rear tail light goes off, the dash lights go off and the marker light out indicator lights up.

Anyone have any idea where to start on this one? I'm baffled.

Thanks,

Sully

Check the taillight bulb to see if it is corroded to ground or if the wires are touching. You should also check for a bad ground and or bad connections at the headlight relay. (under hood if I remember right). Hope this helps...oh and just for fun you might want to check the connectors under the dash and around the console.
    Good luck
