What the heck is this flame trap I keep reading about? 700

I have a '91 740 and I keep reading about people cleaning their "flame trap." I was just wondering what it is, where its located and how do I clean it? Also what does it do? Thanks.

You better find it, and clean it. If it clogs the damage it can do (blown seals for starters) will cost you an arm and a leg. It's a dirty 30 min job on a 1991.

Little strainer-looking thing that sits near your intake manifold. Used for Positive Crankcase Ventilation. Prevents a flame from propagating into the intake air flow. Can(does) get clogged, should be cleaned/replaced regularly.
