Alarm Immobiliser Fault 900 1993

I recently purchased a 945 Highlander 2.0L Injection and have found it has two annoying faults. The alarm goes off for no reason even after the car has been sitting there parked for some time. It also sometimes alarms when I use the remote to lock the car. I have for the time being turned the alarm off on the alarm unit. I have read it could be the alarm relay? Where is this relay located? The other fault is the fuel tank sender. How easy are these to fix? It sticks in the empty position until I have driven it a few miles and then starts working. It then stops working when I turn the engine off and restart it. Is this a relay fault or the tank sender or the dash fuel guage?

    Alarm Immobiliser Fault 900 1993

I'm assuming by the car description that you are talking about a UK model??
I've seen alot of discussion about the alarm problem on the UK volvo club fourms at: http://www.volvoclub.org.uk/
The fuel gauge thing is usually a weak ground issue. A good whack to the dash over the fuel gauge usually wakes it up :-)
