Oh no, another 122 wheel question...

Sorry for all you long time readers who have probably seen this asked a gazillion times, but, I have to admit, I am now totally confused about wheel compatability for my '62 with 4" wheels. The bolt pattern seems to measure 5 on 4.25" (or 108mm) and the offset is 25mm. These dimensions are the same as those listed for 240, 740,760s of many later years (with agreeable offsets) but I have had more than one person tell me that they are not compatable. There are lots of beautiful 6" wheels being sold on this site and others but I'm reluctant to buy, can anyone please lead me to some info that will clear this up in my head? It would be greatly appreciated.
Yours truly, Mike, scratching his head in Kansas.

    I bet 'm measuring wrong 120-130

From the advice of a friend, I have been measuring the 4.25" from the center of one hole to the center of a hole which is two holes away. I just blindly accepted that he knew what he was talking about. But now that I think about it, I bet this is wrong. The 4.5" is probably the diameter of the circle which intercepts the centers of all five holes (which would be 4.5"). Is this correct. Somebody please enlighten me. Thanks, Mike

Oh no, another 122 wheel question...

All the 122s I have had anything to do with had a 4.5" bolt circle,
compatible with Ford and Chrysler but NOT with later model Volvos, even
though the early 140/164 wheels looked a great deal like the 122 wheels.
