Engine Tapping 200

Has anyone noticed whether the Mann oil filters will quiet down the tapping in the engine that you get when the 240's are first turned on and before they warm up?

    Engine Tapping 200

If you have been using any filter with an anti-drainback valve, you won't notice a difference with a Mann filter. And even if you have been using cheapo Fram filters without the valve, you're not going to notice a difference in the engine tapping through the warmup cycle, as oil pressure builds up in about one second even if the filter is empty of oil. So no, you probably won't notice a drop in the tapping sound, which is just a Volvo sound in my experience and nothing to worry about with these engines.

On the other hand, if you switch to synthetic you might notice a drop in the tapping sound, as synthetic performs better all around, and it especially performs better when cold.
