Injectors no go at start-up (Intermittent) 700 1987

Here's one that is driving me crazy. Our '87 740 Turbo wagon (322,000Km)has an intermittent fuel fault. Cranks OK, sparks OK, but won't start.
We have so far been through the all the usual offenders.
First was resoldering fuel pump relay, then replaced the tank pump, then the main pump. Each time we think it's fixed, but after a few days or weeks, the same problem occurs. It has been difficult to pin down, because once it starts and behaves normally, it is not possible to find the fault.
By squirting fuel into the manifold, the engine starts, will stay running fine, can restart it hot, cold or whatever for another period of time until the problem returns. After looking at the FAQ's it appears that the Radio Suppresion Relay (which never occurred to me as a cause) may be the the next investigation on Monday, but I would like to know if anyone has any ideas in the meantime in case this does not work.
For the record, I have still not found a hill that this car will not accelerate up, even with a full load. Starting to use oil now, and need to check every week, but otherwise has only had the regular servicing and an A/C compressor replacement.

My RSR failed in the middle of the Cumberland Plateau (TN) fortunately I carry enough electrical spares in the car to bail me out. I resoldered the failed part and re-installed it, it's still working.
My symptoms were different, mine did alot of backfiring before quiting completely.
Look at your ground wires on the manifold, is the insulation crumbling? If so the harness needs repair or replacement.

      Rolyak,
Yes you were right. Faulty RSR. PCB tracks had some corrosion. Cleaned up, now OK. Solder looks OK, but will redo soon.
      Thank you.

RSR is a prime culprit, but make sure your car is so equipped: that's about the year they were introduced. If you have one, you can test it by swapping leads with the identical cooling fan relay.

Steve, just an update to make you feel better. Had the car at the mechanics for over a week. Eventually told him to put all the dash back together and I will take it without the repair he could not do.
Got home and heard a relay cutting out a few seconds after cranking had finished (No start). It was the RSR, but I failed to locate it earlier as I assumed that was for the thermo fan, as there was only ONE relay there.
Sure enough wobbled it around and car started. Pulled it apart and found some corrosion between the lower PCB tracks. Scrubbed it with toothbrush and contact cleaner. Now all is OK. The solder joints look OK, but I may resolder it anyway once I get a lower power iron.
Mecahnic didn't charge me for all his hours.
      Thanks again.

Hello Steve, visited my wife's car at the mechanic's shop (It's gone beyond me by now). Unfortunately NO RSR is fitted. There is only one relay near the power steering tank. Mechanic says the wiring harness is OK. He is starting to suspect printed circuit on computer board.
I certainly think it must be an electrical connection, ...somewhere!
      Any more ideas, Steve? Thanks.
      ANDREW.
