Cheap fixes that actually work....For me at least....Long Post. 200

I usually post to this board asking questions and hoping for answers. I wold like to offer my experience with two different products that have worked well for me. I am NOT a distributor, manufacturer or have anything to do with these products other than have used them.

Firstly,

The front door hinges on my 1990 wagon kept making noises everytime I would open or shut it. I tried everything from oil to some kind of grease and found they would work for a week or two at most. I finally replaced the Differential fluid and had some left over. Through other people's advice, I used Mobil 1 fully synthetic. I put a little on my door hinges and it has been noise free for about 6 or 7 months. Just a little thing to try and it is relatively cheap (especially if you change the differential fluid).

Secondly,

I went to a plastic dealer in town a few years ago for some scratched plastic on my instrument cluster. They suggested a product called or made by NOVUS. I bought the middle one (#2 Fine Scratch Remover and Polish) and has worked wonders on my headlights and the chrome, plastic trim around the car. It brings it back to life. I have been working on a "project" 1988 240 sedan and had to replace the front end (thanks to all those people I got parts from). It cleaned the headlights and trims right up.

Again, I have no stock in ANY of these two companies, just like their products and like using them. I cannot remember the price on the Mobil 1 grease but the NOVUS #2 Plastic Cleaner was something like $4.00 - $5.00 per bottle. It is probably enough to last the average person a lifetime.

Just trying to give back a little from a group that has helped SO much.

Todd :-)

P.S. Sorry about the long post.
