Does anyone know of illustrated instructions available on-line or forum to help with replacing a broken timing belt on a 1988 740GLE w/B230 non-turbo engine. Does the waterpump gasket have to be replaced during this procedure?

    You don't *have* to do the water pump gasket, however this may be a good time to replace the wp if you have any doubt as to it's future disposition... see the FAQ's as suggested.
