Is this a Volvo part, or aftermarket? Has anyone seen this before? It fits next to the passanger cieling handle.

    Definitely was a Volvo parts item (from your dealer's counter) -- back in the eighties, I bought three of them (one for each of my three Volvos) as a reading lamp for my little one to read by (no matter which car we were in) while she sat in the back seat!
    [It paid off -- she graduated from Harvard, and now is finishing Harvard Law School -- so she can buy me my next Volvo, a new one! :-).]

    Can't say if it is the volvo accessory or not, but something like it was available in the mid 80's as a dealer installed option.

    It looks like a Lucas "Flexlight", a popular sporty car accessory in the 60's and 70's. Very popular with the road rally group. Not a Volvo accessory as far as I know but it could have been ion the R Sport catalog. Not sure. They were a high quality accessory as I recall.
