1980 K-Jet -- Source for Fuel Injection ECU 200

I need a new fuel injectino ECU for a 1980 242 w/B21-f and K-Jet. Anybody know a soure for these ? Also, what is the Bosch number, and doyou know of other cars that may have used these so I can widen my search at the pick-n-pull this weekend. Thanks.

Mike

'79 GT uses a 0 280 800 001. It might be different for the same in '80. Other early 240 ECUs (pre B23, that would be B21F's) 0 280 800 033 and 0 280 800 050. If you determine you need the 033 or 050 let me know which is for you car, for my edification. If you can't find one, let me know, I'll sell it at p 'n p rates.

      Hi

Thanks for the info and offers of help. The one in my car is 0 280 800 021. I may have found one, but am still interested in any other sources of supply. According to one parts guy this one is now "obsolete." Go figure, and the car is only aout 25 years old !!

To clarify "It might be different for the same in '80" I mean a different unit may have been used for the B21F in '80. And bulletproof is right, not a fuel ECU in the LH sense.

Strictly speaking there is no ECU for K-Jet. There is a control unit for the emissions control system. Is that what you need?

Strictly speaking there is no ECU for K-Jet.

I think that's debatable Don, since the Lambda CU is an Electronic Unit which Controls fuel mixture and flow—a primitive version of what the LH ECU does, but basically the same function.

I think "Emissions" was driving force in the '70s that led to the "Lambda" system and permanently linked those two terms, but what the Lambda CU does seems like more than just emissions control to me. Although I guess that's what precise fuel control is all about.

      Point of view thing maybe?

Good point, Bruce. I guess my particular point of view is, since it's mechanical injection and since the early K-Jet cars had no Lambda system and since the Lambda cars will still run without the Lambda system operating (not that you'd want to) I tend to think of Lambda Sond and K-Jet as two separate items. But they do interact in such a way that they might as well be considered one.
Anyway, I hope Michael finds what he's looking for. I've actually got an extra one of the damn things but it's seen twice the service of the one in my current car. Just keeping it as a spare. Maybe I should start collecting them.
