gauge ideas? 200 1986

I hate idiot lights. I would much prefer to have gauges instead of lights. I do have the large tach/small clock combo. I was wondering if there was ever a double gauge for anything, similar to the temp and fuel gauge, but for oil and voltage or anything else. My past two cars were both manuals with no tach, and now my 245 is automatic and has a tach. I don't really see much use for it, and I would like to change it for the smaller tach if I can put anything else useful in it's place. (Can I use the small tach and small clock together?)I thought about making one out of two other guages and seeing if I could get something to work, but don't want it to look homemade so scratched that idea. Is anything like this possible, or do I just need to chalk up another idea that's too impractical?

Thanks

    gauge ideas? 200 1986

I'm in the process of moving my radio to the center vent locations and placing the 3 gauge pod in the top radio position. I pulled out the center vents and blocked them off.(now theres 6 instead of 8) Just need to cut out a new faceplate for the radio. I need more gauges for the 16V turbo I'm building. As gambit said you can always put the radio down low but its very difficult to mess with while driving. I had one there for years and never liked it. IMHO I would stick with the large tach. Its a very nice unit.

I moved my radio to the lower position and installed a guage cluster in it's place on my last car ('83 244). I had the large clock, small tach., oil preassure, volts and vacuum (not the turbo version).

On my current car ('87 245) I have the radio back in the top position as I seem to fiddle with it and I can see the road better when doing so in the upper position.
I get by with the large Tach., a volt meter and a vacuum guage. I use the clock in the radio.

If you are guage crazy, you can look on E-Bay and find a Rally Insrument Cluster and then add what it does not have to a guage cluster in the top radio slot. (oil temp., road temp., water preassure, etc.
