Stupid grommet tricks

Dropped the rubber plug covering the timing belt tensionsr adjustment hole. Yes, dropped it down into the timing belt, onto the crankshaft gear.

Tried to fish it out, but it "went somewhere".

Out of sight.

Can I now consider it "out of mind" as well, or, is this going to cause problems?

I would romove the Top of teh Timing Cover and hope that I can get to it FIRST. But then I would get it out of there. It would easily derail the belt off the Tensioner if the lower gear popped it up there.

Bad to leave it there: one false move and it may bounce up to become caught by the belt. Better to remove it.

Yeah, thought so.

I pulled everything off, removed the stupid grommet and re-fitted the belt.

But now the engine sputters/coughs when I blip the throttle from idle. (starts & idles fine). TPS is adjusted correctly and TB is clean.

But then, this isstill with the engine cold and car on stilts inside the garage, so...
