740 heater fan/Chevy part number cross reference? 700 1989

Howdy all,

Once upon a time, I remember someone posting the Chevette part number cross reference for the same fan used in the 740s. Unfortunately I've lost the posting somewhere along the way.

I'd appreciate it if someone would supply me with the number. Mine's making a ticking sound which may or may not indicate imminent failure, but I'd like to pick up a new one just to be on the safe side.

With temps here in Colorado hovering in the 90s this is not a good time to be without A/C...

Thanks,
Jack

    740 heater fan/Chevy part number cross reference? 700 1989

I have a 1990 740 but ended up purchasing my new blower motor from IPD instead. This is IPD # WS 3537854 $61.00 and comes with the squirrel cage.

Anyway, here is the Chevy reference:

"Go to the Parts Source and order a Siemens made replacement blower for a 1984 Chev Citation with the single power connection (I think the Chev with A/C had this config). The part # is: 14-7705-0 and the Siemens number is: PM-105.

The PM-105 motor assembly is identical to the OEM one and only cost $25CDN. You could ask for the Siemens made Volvo drop in replacement but the Part Source will charge you double. Both of the Siemens motor assemblies are the same but the difference is that the fan cage comes with the Siemens made Volvo replacement. Not worth it if you can gingerly remove the cage off the OEM blower and reuse it."
