Rear coil springs for wagon: brand/type preferences? 700

The tail of my '90 740 wagon is sitting lower than in the past (it happens to the best of us).

Can anyone share their experiences with variable versus non-variable springs, and also about brands?

I hope to drive this car for 2-3 more years, with typical family use; no towing.

As always, cost is a factor.

Thanks,
mrad

Maybe you can locate the real Volvo progressively wound overload springs? I put them in the 245 and they are great.

I bought the Scantech heavy duty coils at FCPGroton and they work great on my wagon.

Are they rated for more weight then the stock springs? (More) 700

and how does the car ride when empty. I had 'overload' springs in my 240 wagon and loved them...considering the same for the 740 (kid/people/dog/stuff hauler).

Works great. Admittedly, I have Bilstein HDs on the car, so any differences in damping are masked by the shocks. My 940 sedan with worn Boge Pro Gas shocks required new shocks once I put the heavier springs on, as the damping was mismatched to spring rate.
