WHAT SHOULD THE HIGH PRESSURE A/C PORT READ FULL 900 1996

Hi ,

I am trying to find out what the High pressure port should read when the A/C system is full. (R134a system)I have the gauges and I know that the correct pressure changes with Outside temp. I figure I am looking for the number on a low 80's day 80 to 85. Or also looking for the formula to figure based on out side temp.

also i am assuming that the low side does not matter really since it is just for adding and the high side is to check to see if it is full

help anyone

thanks,

patrick

If you find the high pressure port let me know. In the 96 model it is read by the scan tool. It should not exceed 350lbs at 95 degrees with just the fan on. I reduce the load by 1 to 2 onces and keep the high side at 225 and 250lbs. good luck. Pauli

There is no high side port on the 940. I did mine this past weekend and the empty system took 34 oz of R134a, a little less than three cans.

The only way you would have a high side port is if someone intentionally modified the systen to have one. They did not come from the factory with a high side port. The high side pressures need to be read with a Vadis system thru the ECM.

The low side is all you have and it should read between 25-40 psi as the compressor cycles thru the pressostat. On at 40 psi and off at 25 psi.

Unless your car is different from mine you don't have a high side port.

This control system for the A/C keeps the pressures within bounds so you can't tell the charge state from the pressures. R134 is relatively cheap so just start with an empty system and put in the specified quantity.
