1982 245 Turbo Wagon B21FT M46 w/OD
I had a problem where my OD would jump out on its own... It would also do this if you bumped or tapped the shifter... Discovered the switch on the tranny was bad or something internally around that mechanism...I fixed the problem by by-passing the switch all together. Basically, i'm using a toggle switch and when it is in the on position, it is grounded. The wire that was connected to the switch on the tranny is now connected to the toggle switch instead which I installed on the dash above the temperature controls.. I also installed a little green light to tell me the car can now go into overdrive.. Didn't wanna take the chance on spending the money on a new switch for the tranny... Donno how much they are but i'm guessing they are spendy.. This works really well for me. I'm not fighting the OD any more.. and I have complete control of when and where I want the car to go into overdrive.. Keep in mind though, If the toggle switch is on, the overdrive will engage in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear... This is why I installed the light, so I know visually when the OD can be engaged...
Maybe something to look into... Many hours spent figuring out my problem may be helpful in finding yours... Good luck...
