How do I Get the wires form inside the car through the door?

As, the salvage yard that I was going to pull the power window stuff from was closed on Saturday, I will have to wait to pick the stuff up untill next week. I however, was looking at my car, and I was trying to figure out how I would get the wires from inside the car to inside the door panels. I took off the plastic kick pannel on the drivers front side, and saw a felt carboard stip that looks like it is glued be hind the fuse box. It seems like I I try to remove that I would ruen it? What did I miss? It does not seem like it would be that hard...heck people replace their speaker wires all of the time. Hopefully I'm just overlooking something. But if not I'm prepaired for the truth.
Thanks very much and Happy bricking.

There is a rubber piece between the door hinges that protects the wires. You can remove this easily. Just fish the wires.

I do know about the rubber piece, but there seems to be a felt wall behind the fuses that is glued into place? So, I'm thinking that this is probably blocking my access into the doors from the kick panel.

Thank you very much and happy bricking.

Do this with the battery disconnected.

Remove the knee pad, and the fuse-surround kick panel.

Get the rubber piece between the door and frame out of the hole in both door and frame. It will just hang on the wires already in there.

Then you can use a relatively stiff wire to get into the frame hole and up to where you can see the end of it. Make a little loop in the wire first, it will keep the sharp end from poking things, and will be helpful in pulling back through a very strong string.

Use the string to pull through the power window wires. Then you can insert them through the rubber thing and then inside the door. Re-attach the rubber thing.

No, I haven't done that, but if I were to, that's what I would do.

Good Luck,

Bob
