Groton tailights?/Mar-Hyde Bumper paint? 900

Groton has OEM tailight for me 126$ or aftermarket 98$, can you see a visual diff once the aftermarket is instaleled?, before I decide?

Anyone try/use Mar-Hyde black bumper paint? tips/info on it?

Let me start by stating that I have no affiliation with nor do I sell this product, but I have tried it and it rules. Before you repaint try "Forever Black" I bought a kit from E-bay and it did the trick to recolor my bumpers on my 1991 245. The product bonds with the bumper and will not wash off after it is applied. The trick is to remove ALL of the silicone that has undoubtledly been applied during detailings. Apply it and it seems to last for around a year. I think a kit cost me around $12.00. 2 kits should be enough to do your whole car..trim, bumpers and all.Much easier than painting. But to answer your question, I have used Mar-Hyde and they make good products. I used Mar-Hyde vinyl dye on a Saab 900 turbo interior to change it from beige to black and it lasted for 3 years till the car gave up the ghost (375k miles-not bad). Hope this helps

Thank you for info and I will have to go the painting route. This Volvo used to live in Colorado on a gravel road and the owner had a bad habit of fallowing to close to the vehicels ahead, the bumper is slightly more than just discolored.

After market lights are often no bargain. A 240 aftermarket tail lamp I bought from IPD a couple of years ago came apart at the glue seams ... leaked water and finally the colors faded so badly I had to buy a replacement because it looked ten years older than the original 15 year old light on the other side. This occured in just 18 months!!! I would never waste my money on an aftermarket lamp again if the real Volvo deal was available. Considering the genuine Volvo lamp can be had for $126 ... IMO, Volvo OE is the only way to go.
I've not used Mar-Hyde on any on my Brick bumpers ... but I have painted several with SEM Urethane Bumper Coating and that paint looks and wears great.
Proper prepping is important. I clean the bumper with SEM cleaner than wipe it down with Prep-All (a pre paint degreaser), fine sand lightly, re-clean with Pre-all and apply several light coats allowing the paint to flash between applications. Works very well and really makes bumpers look brand new again.
