clutch converson 200 1983

I'am looking for more clutch for my 83 turbo coupe .This car has an 8.5" disc, flat flywheel, m46 trans. I'd like not to use the 740 stepped flywheel (too heavy).I was told that the m47 trans used a larger disc/pressure plate on a flat flywheel. Does anyone have any details/suggestions. many thanks PC

As far as I know it is no problem. You just need the flywheel and clutch. It could be a problem going the other way because I don't think all of the stepped flywheels are drilled for crank position sensors.
