I recently installed euro lights on my 1987 765ti, they are not soo bright!!! i wasnt to upgrade the bulbs, but the selection of super bright H4's is limited where i am, i have heard rumors that 9003 bulbs and H4's are the same, is this true b/c if so , i have a lot more options

on a side note, does anybody have any experience with sylvania's "Silverstars"

or what is the brightest bulb out there

In a test in the Swedish newspaper "Aftonbladet", they found that the brightest bulbs were Philips Premium (3395 lumen low beam, 8870 high), Philips Vision Plus (3410/8915) and Ring Xenon (3650/8520 and best of the blue ones).

Well Phillips sure sells bulbs here. The ones I've always chosen have been the eXtra Vision bulbs. The way Dan Stern explained it the XV bulbs are made to tighter tolerances and with the benefit of newer manufacturing techniques. The LL, long life, bulbs are going to be dimmer (to last longer they'll output less light)... and of course the blue ones are crap.

'89 765T, 173,700 mi

9003 and h4 are the same bulb,read the outer ring...i actually just recently put in sylvania silverstar in my 740, one was an h4 the other was a 9003...they work pretty good.

I had eruo lights in my old bmw, they there h4 raybrig racing bulbs (not street legal, VERY bright)with e-code lenses...never got stopped and always passed the mass inspection.

First and foremost, install relays to operate the European headlights. Go to Dan Stern's web site for more information. Secondly, install Narva 100/90 H4 lamps. Get them from Stern, or Peter Burgeson, pdberg@charter.net. Peter's price on the lamps was better.
