Update: Broken Radiator Fan (replaced it) 200

I bought an intact fan/clutch from a 740 and installed it. I paid
$30 for the fan, clutch, and misc parts (two fog light switches from
a 242, to be used for driving lights, and a fuel pump relay from an
LH 2.2 car). I could have bought a ScanTech fan blade from FCP
for $19, I suppose. Oh well, at least I got the extra schtuff from
the junkyard.

That's cool. I did the electric fan conversion for about $35 and since then the mileage seems to have gotten a bit better and hopefully the waterpump will last longer since its not having to spin a 5lb clutch-fan.

Are there any non-clutch fans available at all ? just the propeller that mounts to the waterpump pulley ?

All electric fans were $35 at that junkyard. I could have gone
that route, but; (a) it was more expensive and (b) a mechanical
fan is more reliable, IMHO. (c) I didn't feel like dorking around
installing a temperature switch or wiring a threshold circuit to
the coolant temperature sensor, and running the fan continuously
would probably wear out the motor quickly, since electric fans
aren't designed to run all of the time.

Next modification, since I now have a stock fog/driving light switch,
will be a set of Bosch Rallye driving lights. That and a 23mm front
swaybar. I'm leaving the rear bar alone for now, because I want
to autocross and an uprated rear sway will disqualify me from the
Stock class (unless a 21mm Turbo rear bar could be considered stock
because it was used on 240 turbos).
