Adding central locking 200 1982

Hey all.
The one thing i miss about the DL compared to the GLT, is that the GLT doesn't have power locks. What is needed to help me out? Will the power work from a 4 door? What relays and such. I'll be heading to a junker soon, and wanna grab the stuff.
Thanks as usual!

If you need any central lock parts I have a parts car with the complete set up.
I have extra relays as well.

A guy on the Swedish 240 Club's Forum has uploaded a scan of the installation manual. You can download it as a compressed .rar-file from this address:

What do you use to open this type of file?

The obvious answer is WinRar (http://www.rarlab.com/) - but other file compresser tools like Ultimate Zip will work too.

The wiring is easily followed if you have the Volvo Service Manual Wiring Diagrams for a 240 year that has centrallocking, such as your 1983. Call the Ken Cook Publishing folks at 1-800-25-VOLVO and see if you can get the book.

It will make a huge difference in your work on your cars.

Get at the boneyard: (1) The actuator and wiring harness for the RF door. (2) The key switch and knob switch and wiring harness for the LF door. (3) The two relays for the system - find them mounted on the relay bar that's just below the center air vents and behind the coin tray, and all the wiring harnesses that connect all that together.

The system on the 1983 runs off Fuse #8.

Good Luck,

Bob
