I know I am hogging the posts... Sorry...dash question... 200

Well I am swapping the parts from the 86 240gl into the 79242gt... I would like to change the dashes as well...has anyone successfully done this? (it would make the wiring a lot easier!).
Thanks
Nocones

Here is what a dash swap looks like when I did it on my 1979 264GL:

A Un-Cracked 81+ Dash In My 1979 264GL

A Closer Look At The Gauges

These are the different brackets. The pre-81 dash bracket is on the left. The 81+ dash bracket is on the right. MAKE NOTE OF THE DIFFERENCE IN THE MOUNTING HOLES IN EACH BRACKET!

You are going to love the dash swap. Enjoy!!!

Sincerely,

Short answer is, 'Yes' 200

Check the archives. I haven't gotten around to this yet, but I guess it boils down to removing all the fasteners you find on the front, and the 2 bolts on the sides. Also, take the side mounting "thingys" (tech term) from the '86, they're different. Drilling mod may be required, I don't remember. Again, check the archives.
